THE REGIONAL OPERATIONS GROUP
The Regional Operations Group (ROG), headed by Undersecretary Zenaida Cuison Maglaya, is responsible for the field operations of the DTI in the regions and provinces. It also initiates programs to ensure efficient delivery of business development services, including the formulation and implementation of policies, plans, and projects that can benefit micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The other officials of the ROG include Assistant Secretaries Blesila A. Lantayona, Ameenah A. Fajardo, and Christopher Albert D. Naga.
Under the ROG are the following offices:
17 Regional Offices and 81 Provincial/City Offices
Provide services of all the DTI offices in the countryside.
Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED)
Initiates and implements programs and projects addressing the specific needs of MSMEs in the areas of technology development and transfer, financing, marketing, and training. The BMSMED is mandated to promote and develop MSMEs in the country, and is also tasked to review and formulate policies and strategies geared towards the advancement of MSMEs in the areas of entrepreneurship development, institutional strengthening, and productivity improvement.
Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP)
Supervises a package of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development programs and projects intended to aid CARP beneficiaries. Particularly, it assists cooperatives/associations of farmers, landowners, women, and youths, who are capable of managing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Small Business Corporation (SB Corp.)
Supports the development of small enterprises by promoting various modes of financing and credit delivery systems.
