Conformity Assessment Bodies Accreditation

By virtue of Department of Trade and Industry Administrative Order (DAO) No. 04:2006, the Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB), then called the Philippine Accreditation Office (PAO), was created and mandated to handle the accreditation of certification bodies, inspection bodies, testing, and calibration laboratories. The PAB accreditation schemes conform to  PNS ISO/IEC 17011:2007 - General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies (CABs) and other relevant ISO and international guidance documents.
To ensure the credibility of its accreditation process, the PAB engages the services of Technical Assessors/Experts from various industries and specialized agencies.
The PAB is a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) and Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC). The PAB is a signatory member of the multilateral recognition arrangement (MLA) for quality management system (QMS) and environment management system (EMS) of PAC. The PAB is also a signatory member of the mutual recognition arrangement for testing and calibration of APLAC.
The established quality management system of PAB revolves on its total commitment to provide confidence to results of certification, inspection, testing, calibration, and other conformity assessment activities, simultaneously ensuring measures to safeguard impartiality and objectivity of its accreditation process.
