PAB has three divisions:

Laboratory Accreditation Division

Laboratory Accreditation Division

The Laboratory Accreditation Division (LAD) handles the accreditation schemes for inspection bodies, testing including medical Laboratories and Calibration Laboratories. This Division assesses testing laboratory and inspection body based on different international standards, which sets out the basic requirements for the competence to carry out specific type of tests, inspection, measurement and/or calibrations. It maintains compliance by PAB to the ILAC and APLAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) based on ISO/IEC 17011, APLAC MRA 001 and other relevant requirements.

The Laboratory Accreditation Division (LAD) offers the following accreditation schemes:

a. Accreditation of Testing and Calibration Laboratories 

Determines the technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories based on the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and specific technical requirements relevant to a field of testing or calibration. 

 Accreditation of Inspection Body

b. Accreditation of Inspection Bodies 

Determines the technical competence, independence, and impartiality of organizations that carry out specific inspection activities based on the requirements of ISO/IEC 17020 and specific technical requirements relevant to the inspection. 

Accredtitation of Medical Testing Bodies

c. Accreditation of Medical Testing Laboratories 

Determines the conformance to essential elements based on ISO 15189 of medical laboratories and specific technical requirements relevant to medical testing.  

d. Accreditation of Proficiency Testing Providers 

Determines the technical competence, independence, and impartiality of organizations that carry out specific services in the provision of proficiency testing based on the requirements of ISO/IEC 17043 and specific technical requirements relevant to the standard for proficiency testing providers. 

Management System Accreditation Division

The Management System Accreditation Division (MSAD)  awards certificate of accreditation to certifying bodies that have been assessed and found to have complied with applicable ISO standards; undertake accreditation schemes for Management System Certification, Product Certification, and other emerging accreditation schemes; and ensure that the accreditation procedures are in accordance with the international standards and guidelines in order to achieve international recognition.

The Management System Accreditation Division (MSAD) offers the following accreditation schemes:

a. Accreditation Schemes for Management System Certification Bodies 

 i. Quality Management System (QMS) 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of certification bodies providing ISO 9001 certification based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1, ISO/IEC 17021-3, and IAF Mandatory Documents.  

ii. Environmental Management System (EMS) 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of certification bodies providing ISO 14001certification based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1, ISO/IEC 17021-2, and IAF Mandatory Documents. 

iii. Food Safety Management System (FSMS) 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of certification bodies providing ISO 22000 certification based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO/TS 22003. 

iv. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) based Food Management System. 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of certification bodies providing HACCP certification based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1 and Codex Alimentarius 

v. Information Security Management System (ISMS) 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of certification bodies providing ISO/IEC 27001 certification based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO/IEC 27006. 

vi. Energy Management System (EnMS) 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of certification bodies providing ISO 50001certification based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 50003. 

Product Certificationb. Accreditation Scheme for Product Certification Bodies 

 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of product certification bodies, based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17065, applicable certification scheme requirements, and applicable AAPAC and IAF mandatory documents. 

c. Accreditation Scheme for Person Certification Bodies 

 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of person certification bodies, based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17024, applicable certification scheme requirements, and applicable IAF mandatory documents. 

d. Accreditation Scheme for Validation and Verification Bodies 

This scheme evaluates the technical competence, consistency, and impartiality of person certification bodies, based on the general requirements of ISO/IEC 14065, applicable certification scheme requirements, and applicable IAF mandatory documents. 

Promotion and Documentation Division

The Promotion and Documentation (PD) Division promotes accreditation activities; extend technical assistance to trade and industry sectors through training programs; conduct training for assessors to strengthen their capability to do assessment work; make information on accreditation schemes available to institutions, organizations, business and individuals concerned; and ensure that all information from the different regional and international fora processed, disseminated and acted upon.

PDD handles the promotion of accreditation and related activities through information campaign using various media; participation in marketing events; consultations and dialogues with stakeholders.
