The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office held an orientation on consumer’s rights to secondary public school students in the island province. About 246 high school students from Buenavista, Cabalagnan, Salvacion, Jordan and Nueva Valencia National High School benefitted from the information drive aimed to increase the awareness of students on their consumer rights and responsibilities to become vigilant and protected consumers.

Aside from the initiative, DTI organized consumer welfare advocate club in these schools.

The consumer welfare advocate clubs are composed of students and teachers that serve as partners of DTI in disseminating consumer information that address issues and concerns affecting consumers especially in schools.

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office has scheduled more information drives to be conducted in other private and public high schools in Guimaras on October, being the Consumer Welfare Month.
