The recently conducted Nueva Vizcaya Goes to Alabang Trade Fair 2016 on September 21-30, 2016 in Festival Supermall, Alabang, Muntinlupa, Metro Manila generated total sales of Php 14,950,000.00.
The furniture sector contributed the largest portion of the sales, amounting to Php 11,539,087.00 or 77.18% of the total sales. The fruits and vegetables sector contributed a total sale of Php 3,754,748.00, or 25.12 % of the total sales. It was followed by the processed food sector with 7.78%, handicrafts sector with 4.60% and flowers and plants sector with 2.07% of the total sales.
The event was jointly organized by the Department of Trade and Industry- Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office (DTI-NV), Provincial Local Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya (PLGU- NV) through its Provincial Cooperative Affairs Office (PCAO) and Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) in collaboration with the Nueva Vizcaya Group of Entrepreneurs Incorporation (NVGEI).
This fourteenth (14th) year of NV Goes to Alabang aims to expose and showcase the culture of Novo Vizcayanos’ thru its products displayed in the Trade Fair. It also aims to promote the eco- tourism destinations of the province thru the special settings designed in the fair.
In attendance were the thirty one (31) exhibitors coming from the different sectors namely: fruits and vegetables; furniture; handicrafts; processed food; and flowers and plants. Mr. Henry O. Connel, Jr., OIC PD of DTI- NV together with his staff and representatives from PLGU and PCAO initiated the opening ceremony on September 21, 2016.
On the other hand, this activity was designed to improve competitiveness of the exhibitors by exposing them in the competitive market of the city. It will serve as a challenge to the Nueva Vizcaya Entrepreneurs to continue their vision of developing new market driven products that will overcome the growing needs of the customers.
The conduct of NV Goes to Alabang 2016 Trade Fair was a huge success by generating almost 300% increase in total sales from the conduct of the same trade fair in 2014.
