In the year 2012, DTI-NCR was challenged to perform its functions
as a “big region” and dared to provide a balanced Business
Development and Consumer Welfare Protection services to its
clients coupled with the implementation of several special projects
such as Helmet ICC Validation, Consumer Assembly, Diskwento
Caravan, Local and Regional Economic Development, Business
Permits and Licensing System, One Town One Product and
   Enhanced Government Internship Program.
Through it all, DTI-NCR remained resilient and struggled to prove its worth as one of the main contributor of accomplishment for the Regional Operations Development Group.  The entrance of new employees gave the office a new dose of vigor given the limited manpower brought about by resignation and retirements.  This, in addition to the management’s directions, strategies and inspiration have brought impact on the achievement of 92.14% rating on physical accomplishments of DTI-NCR.

Undoubtedly, DTI-NCR upholds its unique caliber to rise above any given challenge and shows that it indeed can work at par with the rest of the “big” regional offices in terms of Business Development.  As it establishes itself in championing businesses (MSMEs), more and more of the regional stakeholders (LGUs, Congressmen, Senators, NGOs) came into the fore for support.  Moreover, DTI-NCR also has exhibited the edge to sustain its drive to implement the Consumer Welfare and Protection Services such as FTL Monitoring & Enforcement as well as Consumer Complaints Handling, which are highly expected by the empowered consumers in Metro Manila.

As the year turns to 2013, DTI-NCR looks forward to face focused changes in corporate strategies with the adoption of the Performance Governance System.  Through this, the DTI-NCR team will continue its campaign towards the improvement of more MSMEs and widen its reach to empower more consumers.
