Rolling Manila
The Design Center collaborated with Inteligencias Colectiva, an organization focused on utilizing local context and culture in maximizing a place’s skills, materials, and its urban and rural planning potential. The team redesigned food stalls in Intramuros, Manila, using a methodology divided into four stages: fieldwork, documentation, ideation, and prototyping. The outcome of the collaboration included design solutions for vendors to earn better income, and create a safe, comfortable place of work./p>
Air Dry Clay Making Workshop at Design Week Philippines April 2018
As part of the Creative Workshops of the April 2018 edition of Design Week Philippines, Design Center’s junior designers offered workshops on air dry clay and wire art making for those who want to dip their hands in contemporary crafting and make use of the opportunity to be creative entrepreneurs. The instructional video on air dry clay making shared the basics of making a DIY clay in easy-to-follow steps, and a few techniques in molding.

Likha: A Story of Craftsmanship
Beyond the usual aesthetic value, design can weave a poetic narrative that puts the world of the craftsman front and center. In the Philippine context, the craft tradition provides designers a rich language to choose from and capture ideas that showcases the delicate relationship between designer and the craftsman. This relationship is the essence of business of design and, for Philippine exports, it remains the critical factor underlining the competitiveness of the local handicraft industry.
International Design Conference 2017
Launched in 2017, the International Design Conference is a thought leadership event that celebrates the intersection of business and design, where breakthroughs are the norm and ideas big and bold are unleashed. The International Design Conference embodies the ethos of Design Center – to nurture a strong community of creatives, and to act as a catalyst for the design community to thrive.
For the maiden edition, the International Design Conference puts a spotlight on human-centered design with the theme, Future Proof thru Design Thinking.

The year 2016 marked another milestone for outstanding achievements in the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which celebrated its 35th year.
