The Philippines’ total merchandise trade for January-July 2017 reached US$87.80 billion, an increase of 10.3% from US$79.61 billion recorded in January-July 2016.  Total exports went up by 13.9% to US$36.57 billion in January-July 2017 from US$32.12 billion in the same period last year.  Similarly, total imports increased by 7.9% from US$47.49 billion in January-July 2016 to US$51.23 billion in January-July 2017.  The country’s balance of trade in goods registered US$14.66 billion deficit in January-July 2017 lower than the US$15.37 billion deficit during the same period in 2016.
