The headline inflation rate at the national level continues to decelerate at 3.8 percent in February 2019. Last month, it was recorded at 4.4 percent and in February 2018, 4.3 percent.

Slowdown in the annual increments were noted in the following indices: food and non-alcoholic beverages; alcoholic beverages and tobacco; clothing and footwear; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; furnishing, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house; health; transport; recreation and culture; and restaurant and miscellaneous goods and services.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) rebased CPI series for base year 2006 to 2012 on March 2018, applicable for monthly CPI starting January 2012.
