The national government’s fiscal balance posted a deficit of PhP21.80 billion in October 2017 from a deficit of PhP36.89 billion recorded the previous month. In January-October 2017, the country recorded a PhP234.87 billion deficit, 8.71% higher than last year’s deficit of PhP216.05 billion.

Revenue in January-October 2017 increased to PhP2,006.55 billion from the PhP1,821.38 billion recorded the previous year, resulting in a 10.2% growth in revenue collections year-to-date.  However, national government spending reached PhP2,241.41 billion, up by 10.0% from the PhP2,037.42 billion recorded in the same period last year.
