International tourist arrivals to the Philippines rose by 10.6% in the same period a year ago to US$4.47 million visitors from January to August 2017.
South Korea remained the country's top tourism market with 23.9% share of the total PH tourist arrivals from January to August 2017, with 1,069,089 visitors. This was a 9.5% jump from its level of 976,499 visitors during the same period last year. USA was second with 660,875 visitors in the country, followed by China with 641,412, Japan with 405,571, and Taiwan with 167,461.
Tourist arrivals in the period of January to August were highest in January at 631,639 visitors, while it was lowest in June at 474,854 visitors.
