International tourist arrivals to the Philippines rose by 11.0% to 6.6 million visitors in 2017 from its level in 2016.
South Korea remained the country's top tourism market with 24.3% share to the total PH tourist arrivals in 2017, with 1,607,821 visitors. This was a 9.0% jump from its level of 1,475,081 visitors in 2016. China was second with 968,447 visitors in the country, followed by US with 957,813, Japan with 584,180 and Australia with 259,433.
The highest number of tourist arrivals in 2017 was recorded in January at 631,639 visitors, while the lowest was in June at 474,854 visitors.
