The Filipinnovation awards will showcase Filipino creativity, highlight innovative solutions to early-stage commercialization, and foster transformative contributions to national development.

The deadline for applications is on March 20, 2025. To qualify for the competition, participants should meet the following criteria:

  • Must be Filipino citizens or Filipino-owned enterprises;
  • Must be innovators in the early stages of commercialization;
  • Must be registered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); and
  • Must have Certificate of Intellectual Property (IP) Registration or Proof of Ongoing IP Application

Criteria for Judging:

  • Sustainability & Scalability (30 points) – Can your innovation grow beyond its initial stage? Judges will look for a solid business model that already generates revenue, a clear strategy for expansion, and proof of traction (users, clients, partnerships). Show that your solution isn’t just a one-time success—it’s built for the long haul.
  • Marketability (30 points) – Does your innovation solve a real problem and have a strong demand? You’ll need a unique selling proposition, a well-defined target market, and a comprehensive market strategy (branding, expansion, overcoming barriers). Show that your product or service isn’t just great—it’s something people want and need.
  • Potential Impact & Relevance (30 points) – How does your innovation change lives, industries, or communities? Judges will assess how well your solution aligns with national development goals, its potential to disrupt industries, and whether your team has the expertise to execute the vision. Your innovation should not only work—it should matter.
  • Innovativeness (10 points) – What makes your idea stand out? Judges want to see originality, uniqueness, and a competitive edge over existing solutions. Bonus points if your innovation has applied for or holds intellectual property (IP) rights—proving that it’s a groundbreaking idea worth protecting.
