The DTI’s Consumer Protection Group (CPG) provides updates on its specific programs for consumers and businesses as well.
The DTI reminds consumers to seek transmittal services of their Balikbayan boxes only from accredited sea freight forwarders. The DTI not only maintains its accredited list of sea freight forwarders, but also a list of those without for the guidance of the public.
In addition, the DTI reviews its policies on its issuance of the Bagwis Award and the Accreditation of consumer organizations to ensure the protection of consumers.
Furthermore, the DTI readies Philippine National Standards (PNS) on products and services that are aligned to International Standards for the use of the government, industries, test institutions, academe, etc. As the National Standards Body, the DTI continuously conducts programs and activities with international standards-setting bodies.
