In line with the week-long celebration of the National Exporters’ Week as declared in Presidential Proclamation 931, series of 1996 and House Resolution No.33, the Department of Trade and Industry through its Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) Halal Section is set to hold a Seminar on Opportunities on Global Halal Market Access and Innovation on 06 December 2017 at the Filipinas Ballroom, Ascott Makati, Glorietta 4, Ayala Centre, Makati City.

The Keynote Speaker and Guest of Honor of the event will be His Excellency Mohamed Saleh Badri, Secretary General of the International Halal Accreditation Forum (IHAF).

The International Halal Accreditation Forum (IHAF) is an independent, non-government network of accreditation entities all mandated to enforce Halal standards in their respective countries and regions. Empowered by its mandate to protect the growing number of Halal consumers and to facilitate international trade, IHAF establishes a solid ground for the global industry of Halal food and non-food products.

Recently, with the efforts of DTI-EMB as the secretariat of the Philippine Halal Export Development and Promotion Board, it is pleased to inform the public that the DTI-Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) is now a full member of the International Halal Accreditation Forum. This recent development is seen to enhance the Halal trade between the Philippine and other member countries.

The ceremonial signing between PAB and IHAF will also take place as a high point during the event. The seminar further aims to increase the knowledge of Philippine exporters especially those exporting to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the latest requirements in entering UAE and/or the Middle East. The seminar will be attended by various Halal stakeholders from the private sector, government and academe.

Media is cordially invited to cover and attend the said event. Program will start at 9:00AM and a press conference will be held at 1:00PM. For questions, please contact Export Marketing Bureau- Halal Section at 465.3300 local 202 or contact 0927.257.7396.
