Please be advised that the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) issued two notices on modus operandi involving WhatsApp and dating applications, respectively.

The Department of Trade and Industry advises the public to be vigilant against receiving WhatsApp messages from unknown accounts threatening them to, among others, disclose private information. The public is also warned against online dating applications being used to lure victims into investment fraud. Unscrupulous individuals build trust with the victims to lure them into trading and investing through fake websites and applications.
