As the Philippines continues to brave the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has been working towards balancing the health and economy of our country. More importantly, we are working towards our economic recovery by building back better for a more inclusive and sustainable post-pandemic future wherein our people can enjoy a more comfortable and greater quality of life.
But this is only made possible because of the essential workers, work-from-home staff, and many others who are at the forefront and continue to render service in order to keep our economy afloat. Saludo po kami sa dedikasyon at pagsisikap ng manggagawang Pilipino.
Kaya naman ngayon Araw ng mga Manggagawa, kaisa ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) sa ating mga kababayan tungo sa maagap na pagtugon sa mga pangangailangan ng mga manggagawa na katuwag natin sa pagsubok na ito.
DTI continues to support the Filipino worker, especially during the present pandemic, by working to restart economic activities, restore business and consumer confidence, upgrade and retool the workforce, and facilitate labor market access. In line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s call for Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan, we firmly believe that kapag masigla ang negosyo, lilikha ito ng marami at desenteng trabaho para sa manggagawang Pilipino.
Kaya ganoon na rin po ang aming pagsisikap mabuksan ulit ang ekonomiya noong mga panahaon na ito dahil MECQ. Kahapon may ina-announced tayo ng mga nadagdag na pagbubukas na sector. Para po makabalik ang mas maraming pang trabaho ng ating mga kababayan at maiwasan na ang kahirapan at kagutuman.
As such, we welcome the partnership of RCBC to help our people, especially our Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through their DiskarTech financial inclusion app. The financial inclusion thrust of Diskartech as well as its financial literacy campaign are valuable support for the government’s programs and initiatives to support many of our low-wage earners and unbanked users who lack access to traditional banking.
Likewise, we laud RCBC for bringing innovative financial products and services closer to those who need it the most, like DiskarTech’s sari-sari store insurance, which has been providing relief and security to small enterprise owners.
