The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – MIMAROPA Region, through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), assisted 10 coconut farmers and coconut products producers to participate in the 2022 World Bazaar Festival (WBF).

DTI MIMAROPA sets up a special booth display for the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan assisted entrepreneurs and coconut farmers during the World Bazaar Festival at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from December 10-19, 2022.

According to the website of the World Bazaar Festival, “WBF is the longest-running annual charity bazaar in the Philippines”. For this event, DTI MIMAROPA shouldered the booth and exhibition expenses of the participating CFIDP beneficiaries from the provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. Prior to this, the exhibitors received marketing assistance from the agency to prepare them for one of the grandest holiday bazaars in the country.

Under the CFIDP, DTI is mandated to help the beneficiaries through marketing assistance, research, and market promotion.

Raquel Fabroa, representative of the Calima Socio-Economic Multipurpose Cooperative, a group of farmers from Oriental Mindoro said in an interview, “Sobrang pasa-salamat namin [na] napo-promote yung aming mga produkto. Nakikita nila na talaga namang maraming resources ang Pilipinas sa niyog. Proud kami na sinuportahan kami ng DTI.”

DTI MIMAROPA has set a target of P1 million pesos for the participating CFIDP beneficiary exhibitors.

“I invite everyone na tangkilikin ang mga produktong gawa ng ating mga micro small and medium enterprises. We remain at the forefront of bringing our local products from the beautiful islands of the MIMAROPA Region to the whole nation and the world,” DTI MIMAROPA Regional Director Joel B. Valera said.

The World Bazaar Festival will run from December 10 to 19, 2022 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. *
