Last 16 June 2022, qualified auditors of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI 12) conducted a Product and Systems audit on Medical Grade Oxygen for the Gensan Industrial Compressed Gas, Incorporated located at Brgy. Glamang, Polomolok, South Cotabato.

According to Republic Act 4109 or the Standards Law, “Producers, manufacturers, and/or dealers who offer for sale any commodity which affects life, health, and property of the people, will be subjected to the inspection and sampling of the government in order to determine if those products satisfy the requirements as to kind, class, grade and quality or standard.”

The appropriate product testing measures and systems audit were undertaken to ensure the company’s compliance to the requirements of Philippine National Standard (PNS) 103:1987 and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015.

The medical grade oxygen (MGO) is an essential medicine used to care for patients at all levels of the healthcare system. With the continuing COVID-19 pandemic existing in the country, production of quality oxygen is necessary.

According to Regional Director Jude Constantine S. Jaugan, DTI Region 12 in coordination with the Bureau of Philippine (BPS), will continue to implement the Product Certification Program to ensure the health and safety of the consumers. ♦
