Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The Department of Trade and Industry – Region 12 (DTI-12) through its Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office awarded a total of 75 livelihood kits under the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) and the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSBP) programs to the qualified residents in the coastal municipalities of Kalamansig and Lebak, Sultan Kudarat.

The livelihood kits were given to 52 PPG beneficiary residents of Kalamansig and 23 LSP-NSB beneficiary residents of Lebak.

The PPG   is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program of DTI which aims to assist individuals and families affected by fire incidents and other calamities including the COVID-19 pandemic to recover and/or start their businesses, while the LSP-NSB allows a wider reach of business development assistance, especially to far-flung communities by bringing government services closer to the people through partnerships among national government agencies, the barangay local government units (BLGUs) and the private sectors.

During the awarding of the livelihood kits, DTI-12 OIC Regional Director Flora Politud-Gabunales said that the livelihood kits are assistance of the government to the budding entrepreneurs especially those who are hardly hit by the ill effects of the pandemic, and victims of natural and man-made calamities.

“Ang PPG at LSP-NSB kits ay tulong ng gobyerno sa inyo. Ito ay hindi solo ng DTI kundi ipinadaan lang sa amin upang matulungan kayong makaahon dulot ng epekto ng pandemya at mga trahedya. Hindi man kalakihan ang halaga ngunit hangad namin na sa pamamagitan ng mga kits na ito ay makapagsimula muli kayo,” said Politud-Gabunales.

Politud-Gabunales also added that DTI through its Negosyo Centers in Kalamansig and Lebak will continue to monitor the beneficiaries and extend assistance to help the beneficiaries operate their businesses sustainably.

The beneficiaries and the corresponding starter kits they received were identified through a thorough screening conducted by DTI through its Negosyo Centers and in close coordination with the barangay local government units and partner agencies.
