The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Rizal Provincial Office and the Small Business (SB) Corporation conducted a webinar on COVID-19 Assistance to Restart Enterprises (CARES) for the tourism sector last 14 July 2021. Business Counselor Daryl Andres of Negosyo Center-Antipolo facilitated the conduct of this webinar and was livestreamed via Zoom and Facebook in all Negosyo Centers in the province. This webinar is also in collaboration with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Antipolo Chapter and the City Government of Antipolo.
Mr. Bryant Kim An, President of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Antipolo, emphasized that one of the problems faced by businesses due to pandemic is funding, and he was hoping the webinar could help the participants in seeking additional funds for their businesses. He also said PCCI-Antipolo can help as well through consultancy for other business concerns.
An inspirational message through an audio-video presentation gave by Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Bautista-Ynares was presented. She expressed her gratitude to DTI for the program that supports the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the whole province especially in the City of Antipolo. Mayor Ynares said that the pandemic has hit the economy really hard, and she highlighted that the CARES program could really help the Antipolo tourism industry. “Kaya patuloy po ang inyong pamahalaang lungsod sa paggawa ng mga programa para sa inyong sector,” Mayor Ynares added.
SB Corporation P3 Coordinator Francis Daniel Rebollado discussed his presentation in an inclusive way in which he showed the goal of CARES for Tourism Rehabilitation and Vitalization of Enterprises and Livelihood (TRAVEL) Program. He explained who are eligible to apply, the loanable amount, grace period, and the service fee. He demonstrated the step-by-step on how to apply to the program, how to get the loan proceeds, and how to pay the loan.
Rebollado also showed the sample computation of loan amount, service fee, net loan proceeds, and monthly amortization. He showed where can seek assistance for loan application as well.
