Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office, through its Negosyo Center Santa Cruz together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Negosyo Center Santa Cruz joins the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Cruz in an orientation with and about the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) on February 7, 2023, at Asia Blooms Hotel, Brgy. Patimbao, Santa Cruz, Laguna.

In the said meeting-orientation, LGU Committee Chair for Trade and Municipal Councilor Norman “Trophy” Tolentino initiated and described the event as the beginning of an economic venture for Santa Cruz into being a business capital. Tolentino further said that the creation of Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce and Industry might be an avenue in honing and helping businesses towards better local economic performance.

In nature, PCCI is responsible to support and engage in business growth and sustainable development by facilitating business services for the advancement of grassroots entrepreneurship, chamber development, international trade relations, business innovation and excellence, and operating efficiency. PCCI CALABARZON Regional Governor Romeo Race explained the proposed benefits of being a Chamber member such as the ease of access with DTI programs and services, including but not limited to the following:

  • Access to Shared Service Facilities or business machineries and equipment free or with minimal cost of use.
  • Provision of Small and Medium Enterprise Roving Academy or entrepreneurial trainings for potential and existing entrepreneurs.
  • Access to wider market thru product enhancement and product development including labelling, packaging, and trade fairs; and
  • Linkage to financial loan assistance

Race also ensured that Chamber members have opportunities to listen to business and political leaders through South Luzon business conferences and first-hand updates on businesses through electronic platforms.

In addition to, PCCI San Pablo City Chapter Past President Rolly Inciong discussed the step-by-step process of creating a PCCI LGU Chapter, starting with organizing a committee with active members.

Santa Cruz followed through with Pagsanjan and Los Baños who have recently formed their respective local Chambers.
