KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO – Department of Trade and Industry – Region 12 (DTI-12) through its Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office has conducted a webinar on Going Contactless: How to Setup a Cashless Transaction to 37 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of the province on 23 October.
With a common goal to serve the growing MSMEs in the country, DTI partnered with Globe myBusiness to provide the participating entrepreneurs with free business training and consultancy that would help them succeed in every area of their business and to capitalize on going cashless with their transactions.
The webinar is part of the online series of Business Consultation Caravan to help local MSMEs cope with the new normal thru the use of contactless transaction system.
As the government called for the resumption of operations by the business sector, contactless transaction would assure the safety of both business establishment’s staffs and their customers as it reduces the need for cash-to-cash transaction, thus lowering the risk of spreading viruses, including the COVID-19.
Rey Prado, Globe Gcash Account Manager for Visayas and Mindanao, who served as the resource person for the webinar said that going contactless is the future specially in this time of pandemic as it limits face-to-face transactions and provides prompt payment option.
DTI Sultan Kudarat Provincial Director Felisa A. Sinobago in her message to the participants said that businesses who are into contactless transactions have competitive advantage as more and more consumers are now using cashless payment options.
To adopt to the new normal, DTI has been using virtual platform to reach greater number of clients and deliver basic services such as by mounting virtual trade fairs, online training, and business consultancy sessions. ♦
