Cebu, Philippines—First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos’ “Lab for All” medical mission held in Talisay City on August 29 was attended by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Acting Secretary Cristina A. Roque where DTI, in partnership with Go Negosyo, conducted free mentoring sessions to empower individuals toward economic self-sufficiency. This initiative aligns with the Bagong Pilipinas vision of providing accessible healthcare services for all Filipinos and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.

Beyond physical and medical examinations with laboratory tests, the “Lab for All” program prioritized efficient patient registration and secure management of medical results. By providing a permanent QR code linked to their local health centers, the program also ensured continuity of care and facilitated easy access to health information.

“We are honored to participate in the First Lady’s ‘Lab for All’ program, ensuring accessible healthcare and promoting economic well-being for every Filipino,” said Secretary Roque.

“To complement this genuine public service, the DTI has established a free mentorship program aimed at creating economic opportunities that will enhance the lives of participants and improve their access to healthcare services,” Secretary Roque added.

Recognizing the link between financial stability and health, the mentorship sessions equipped participants with knowledge and skills to create sustainable livelihoods and improve their overall well-being. The DTI also coordinated closely with Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, who expressed strong support for the DTI’s initiatives in the region.
