About 30,000 jobs in construction are up for grabs in the upcoming Job Caravan on August 12, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

Organized by the Build, Build, Build Core Committee, the caravan entitled ‘Jobs Jobs Jobs’ is open to all and caters to blue and white collar workers looking for employment in the construction industry.

The Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the central authority of construction in the country, takes the opportunity to add to the list of partners that will guide Filipinos to seize available jobs in construction.

Numerous occupation prospects await Filipino job hunters who will the join the caravan. Top construction companies will hire for vacancies in labor, masonry, and carpentry among others. Those in engineering and architecture are also invited to apply as there will also be openings for construction manpower professionals.

The CIAP, through its implementing boards – Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB), Philippine Overseas and Domestic Construction Board (PODCB), Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC), and Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF), is vested to coordinate the efforts of the government and private agencies involved in construction to promote, accelerate and regulate the growth and development of the construction industry to attain the national objectives under the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 and Ambisyon 2040.

CIAP invites PCAB licensed contractors to participate in the event and hire the best candidates through the job fair. Companies such as DMCI, EEI, Megawide Corporation, Alloy MD, Vicente T. Lao, Leighton Contractors, Apollo, EP Consortium Bouguex, JE Manalo, EM Cuerpo, among others have signified their support and are participating.

The CIAP also sets up a booth to represent POCB and PCAB registered contractors with vacancies that do not have their own booths at the fair. Applicants may drop their resumes at the booth and CIAP will hand them out to respective contracting companies.

Aside from potential employers, jobseekers will have the opportunity to complete their requirements through one-stop services offered by participating government agencies such as Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Social Security System, Pag-IBIG, Philippine Statistics Authority, Land Transportation Office, National Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Internal Revenue.

The Build Build Build job caravan is a joint project of Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).♦
