SAN PEDRO CITY, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office, thru its Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program, granted livelihood assistance to eight fire-incident victims in Barangay Nueva, San Pedro City, Laguna, recently.  

Each beneficiary received P5,000 to P5,600 worth of livelihood packages in the form of sari-sari store, eatery, frozen products, and dress shop which would serve as starting capital for their respective businesses.  

The beneficiaries were also given an orientation on DTI Negosyo Center services particularly Business Name Registration assistance — the first step in legalizing businesses. All eight (8) were able to secure their proposed business names.  

During the awarding ceremony, Barangay Councillor Yolanda Capiña expressed the local government’s utmost gratitude on the said assistance. She said that DTI’s presence in their community and the inclusion of San Pedro fire victims in the PPG program is deeply appreciated.  

The fire incident took place at Purok 3, Brgy. Nueva, San Pedro City, Laguna on September 3, 2019.  

The DTI PPG program aims to provide entrepreneurial and livelihood assistance to individuals or families affected by natural calamities and man-made incidents.♦
