In line with the 10-Point Socioeconomic Agenda of the national government and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals to leave no one behind, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) -MIMAROPA, through the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo Sa Barangay (LSP-NSB), provided livelihood kits to 175 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region, as of August 2020.
The Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo Sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) is a program of DTI that allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through partnerships between relevant local government units and DTI officials. DTI-MIMAROPA believes that the LSP-NSB supports the whole of government approach wherein public agencies related to supporting inclusive business ecosystem work across portfolio boundaries and mandate to encourage entrepreneurial activities and integrated government assistance.
DTI-MIMAROPA, through the LSP-NSB program, has already covered 124 barangays in the region, from the priority communities. Some of the types of kits provided were in the form of packaging materials, grocery items, production tools, food cart kit, and etc. Likewise, 71 beneficiaries from Local Communist Armed Conflict (LCAC) affected areas and vulnerable communities such as the Indigenous Peoples (IPs), refugees, or stateless persons also known as Persons of Concern (POCs) were provided with livelihood kits.
Furthermore, 402 individuals have also received information/training kits from the program. The DTI Provincial Offices and Negosyo Centers conducted several trainings and seminars on digital marketing, entrepreneurial mind setting, livelihood, financial literacy, consumer education, and other business development sessions.
Aside from the provision of livelihood and training kits, LSP-NSB also facilitates business registration, business advisory, and business information and advocacy. Interested clients are encouraged to inquire with any Barangay SME Counselor or visit any of the nearest Negosyo Centers or local DTI offices for assessment.
DTI-MIMAROPA has also set LSP-NSB activities for the rest of the year, to cover more municipalities and barangays. ♦
