The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) participated in the 21st World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit held on 20 – 22 April 2022 as part of its efforts to promote Philippine-made products under the Go Lokal! and Marahuyo brands.
In partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), the DTI set up two pop-up stores at the Manila Marriot Hotel for the three-day event to showcase exceptional products of 23 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and nine Philippine Fashion Designer brands, notably Ann Ong, Aranaz, Arnel Papa, Earl Gariando, Helena Alegre, JMakitalo, Joanique, Ma. Angelica Rare Finds, and Mele+Marie. Both stores will feature curated premium and artisanal food and sustainable homeware products, as well as fashion accessories.
“Rediscovering Travel,” which was the theme of this year’s WTTC global summit, was aimed at supporting the sector’s recovery and move beyond to a safer, more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future. This was the first time that the Philippines hosted the event. There were over a thousand delegates from various countries around the world.
In keeping with the theme, the DTI saw the event as an ideal venue to promote Go Lokal! and Marahuyo brands to the international market.
Go Lokal outlets are found in malls, supermarkets, duty free shops, and e-commerce platforms while Marahuyo is located at the Duty Free Luxe Mall in MOA Complex, Pasay City.
