Go Lokal!, the market access platform of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is set to participate in the second ASEAN Online Sale Day (AOSD), a celebration of the unity of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Member States through trade. Now on its second year, the ASEAN region will be commemorating its 54th founding anniversary through the commencement of the AOSD this 8 – 10August 2021.

Go Lokal! will take part in the AOSD through its flagship stores in Lazada, Shopee, Shopinas, and UnionBank GlobalLinker. This is part of DTI’s commitment to advance its “Buy Local, Go Lokal!” advocacy by providing the Filipino consumers access to homegrown high-quality products. Forty-seven (47) Go Lokal!-accredited brands are also participating in the AOSD through their online stores this year.

Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said the country’s fast-growing e-commerce will support its economic recovery moving into a post-pandemic era.

The trade chief said, “Our participation in this year’s ASEAN Online Sale Day would allow us to create a ‘Better Normal’ by taking advantage of the benefits of e-commerce in the region. More e-commerce also means more jobs and employment generated for our countrymen.”

Last year, the first AOSD was a one-day online event that promoted domestic and cross-border trade between the ASEAN Region. Because of the pandemic, the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on E-Commerce is encouraging the shift to availing goods and services online.

Thirty-six (36) Philippine e-commerce businesses participated in the first AOSD. This year, the Philippines has a bigger contingent of about 100 companies composed of online stores and e-commerce marketplaces.

Go Lokal!’s ASEAN anniversary sale offers markdown prices, “buy one, take one” promos, and wholesale discounts.  Visit http://onlineasean.com and find more about the participating Go Lokal! brands and their stores.
