OTOP Philippines proudly participated in the prestigious Manila FAME 2024, bringing 30 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across the country to the global stage.
Held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from October 17 to 19, this year’s Reimagination theme embodied sustainability and aesthetic functionality in every display. The OTOP Pavilion featured products across fashion, furniture, lighting, home décor, houseware, food, and gifts—each focusing on sustainable materials and cultural preservation. Participation in Manila FAME offered these OTOPreneurs valuable exposure to local and international markets. This year’s event generated over PHP 1.6 million in sales with curated food gift packages leading the charge.
At the opening ceremony, DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque underscored the Department’s commitment to Filipino creativity and MSME growth, aligning with the goals of the current administration: “We at the DTI-Bagong Pilipinas are committed to supporting Filipino entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth, positioning the Philippines as a global creative powerhouse.”
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the event on the second day, emphasizing the creative sector’s significant role in the Philippine economy, noting it represents a significant portion of the GDP: “Our design community has achieved world-class status and often surpasses it. With the government’s support, we are bringing Filipino talent to the world market.”
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also graced the event to show her support for Filipino artisans and local enterprises, recognizing the importance of promoting homegrown talent.
The OTOP Philippines Program is a government initiative designed to boost the local economy by supporting communities in each region to develop and promote their unique products and services. Rooted in local culture and traditions, OTOP Philippines helps MSMEs harness indigenous materials, local talents, and creativity by providing assistance in product development, capacity building, mainstream market access, and financing options.
OTOP empowers rural communities to be more competitive and market-driven. By collaborating with both private and public sectors, the program fosters innovation and creates opportunities for sustainable growth at the local level.
Through government programs like OTOP Philippines, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) strengthens MSMEs by providing platforms that foster creativity, market expansion, and global competitiveness.
The OTOP Philippines program remains committed to helping Filipino entrepreneurs grow sustainably and innovate boldly. With DTI’s continued support, these enterprises will continue to inspire, uplift communities, and showcase Filipino excellence on the local and global stage.
