Philippine exhibitors delighted buyers in Ambiente with a wide array of furniture and lifestyle products.

The Philippine country pavilion made waves in Ambiente, the world’s number one trade fair for products associated with dining, giving and living. The delegation earned US$ 3.02M accomplishing 120% of its initial target of US$ 2.5M.

The fair welcomed 136,000 trade visitors from 166 countries, with the top 10 visitor nations outside Germany being Italy, China, France, the UK, the Netherlands, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, Russia and South Korea.

Held in Messe Frankfurt in Germany, Ambiente continues to be the meeting point for buyers and suppliers from all parts of the world.

The 24-strong Philippine delegation in Ambiente entertained thousands of buyers who flocked to the event. Fair visitors were all praises to the Philippine pavilion as they claim that it is always the best among ASEAN exhibitors.

The Philippine presentation also renewed the interest of foreign buyers who regularly visited Manila FAME in the past for their sourcing needs. According to these former buyers of Manila FAME, they are eyeing a trip back to the country to attend the next edition of the Philippine’s premiere lifestyle and design event.

These achievements prove that the country’s efforts to boost our exports initiative are effectively capturing not only the lucrative German market but the rest of the European Union such as the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Denmark and Italy. The Ambiente participation, likewise, captured buyers outside Europe as a big number of companies from the USA visited the Philippine pavilion as well.

The Philippine participation in Ambiente was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its export promotion arm, the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), in partnership with the Office of Sen. Loren Legarda and Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) – Berlin.

Sen. Loren Legarda, through her Congressional Initiative Fund for Export Promotion, supported the Philippines’ bid to expand exports to Europe. The target number of exhibitors was exceeded due to the subsidy given to participating companies.♦
