SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna – The local government of San Pedro, Laguna on Monday received a donation of a new patient transport vehicle (PTV) thru the efforts of Usec. Dave M. Almarinez of the Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) in partnership with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). The PTV unit will enhance the delivery of emergency health services to the public.  

City Mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz received the PTV as well as several boxes of vitamin supplements. 

PCSO General Manager Royina Garma led the ceremonial turnover held at the Nissan North Edsa branch in Quezon City of the brand-new Nissan Urban PTV worth PHP1.58 million including a detachable patient bed and boxes of vitamins. 

Garma said the PTV is a 100 percent donation of PCSO to San Pedro City. Before, LGUs were required to share 40 percent of the cost of the PTV depending on its classification. 

“The PCSO is also relentless in its thrust to provide assistance not only to LGUs and hospitals but also to Filipinos across the country through its Medical Access Program (MAP), Calamity Assistance Program, Medicine Donation Program, Endowment Fund Program and many more. The program is funded by revenues from PCSO games nationwide,” Garma said. 

For her part, Mayor Cataquiz expressed her gratitude to Usec. Dave Almarinez and PCSO for including the city as beneficiary of the donation. “My heart is always for the good of the people, that is why I never stop helping whenever I can, she said. “The brand-new ambulance will go a long way in strengthening the delivery of emergency health services to the public,” Cataquiz said. 

For his part, the head of the Philippine International Trading Corporation stressed the need for meaningful partnerships during a global pandemic. 

“Under the Duterte Administration, we are all partners in our mission to heal as one. I will always do my best to bring hope to the people of Laguna,” Usec. Almarinez said.♦
