On January 12, 2017, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Fe in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry- Nueva Vizcaya led the dedication and inauguration ceremony of the Santa Fe OTOP Store in Forest Park, Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya.
In attendance were DTI- R02 OIC Regional Director, Mr. Ruben B. Diciano, DTI-Nueva Vizcaya staff headed by OIC Provincial Director, Mr. Henry O. Conel, Jr., and representatives from the LGU of Santa Fe spearheaded by the honorable Vice Mayor Jonathan M. Tindaan. Reverend Renie Jones T. Dugay was also present to grace the dedication and inauguration ceremony.
OIC RD Diciano mentioned on his speech that the establishment of the OTOP Store will showcase the creativity, ingenuity, values and culture of the people of Santa Fe. He emphasized that the products to be displayed and sold must be of quality and with competitive price.
The use of indigenous raw materials from the municipality and within the province of Nueva Vizcaya was encouraged by the OIC RD. In addition, he explained that this will help the promotion of Green Economic Development (ProGED).
As a challenge, OIC RD asked the DTI- Nueva Vizcaya through OIC PD Conel to plan for the branding of the products of Santa Fe.
Mr. Melecio Palma, Sr., the Liga ng mga Barangay President, stated that the establishment of the OTOP Store gave an inspiration to the local soft broom and GHD manufacturers to continue their production. The people were also encouraged to produce indigenous products to revive the culture of Santa Fe.
To end his speech, Mr. Palma asked the DTI- Nueva Vizcaya staff to provide additional trainings and support for the local manufacturers for the sustainability of the OTOP Store.
This project opened the endless possibility of business partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry- Nueva Vizcaya and promotion of the Local eco-tourism of the municipality.
