The Undersecretary of the Industry Development and Trade Policy Group of the Department of Trade and Industry and the Managing Head of the Board of Investments, Dr. Ceferino S. Rodolfo spoke in the Policy Dialogue: Creating a Healthy, Sustainable and Inclusive Future in the 5th Belt and Road Summit on 30 November 2020 at 10 o’clock in the morning. The Undersecretary emphasized the importance of inclusive trade and investment policies that are open to all countries whether or not they are part of the Belt and Road Initiative. Further, the Undersecretary highlighted the commitment of the Philippines to champion the accession of the partners of the Philippines who are not yet part of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership after the date of entry into force of the Agreement.

Furthermore, the Undersecretary cited the policy work in the Philippines during the pandemic which resulted to the continuous entry of investments in the country and the continuous flow of trade in the country. Lastly, the Undersecretary recognized the long standing partnership of the Philippines with Hong Kong and the importance of Hong Kong not only as to its strategic location but also as to its innovative initiatives. ♦
