The Department of Trade and Industry – Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR) launched its 29th and 30th run of the Kapatid Mentor ME – Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) Online program in the region on 5 and 7 April 2022. A total of 110 mentees will be undergoing the 10-week module program from April to August. The mentees come from various industry clusters like food manufacturing, agri-business, wearables, services, and ICT, among others.

“We hope that all of you will go home with new learnings, new friends, and new perspectives for your future as entrepreneurs. Ang aming dasal, from 110 mentees this launching, 110 din ang magtatapos sa Agosto. At hindi lang 110 graduates, 110 graduates with their own success stories to share. We are still in a pandemic and we are still preparing for a new normal Cordillera. But I know that you are all tough, you are all ready to take on whatever lies ahead before you,” said DTI-CAR OIC Regional Director Juliet Lucas on her welcoming remarks.

Undersecretary Blesila A. Lantayona of DTI Regional Operations Group (ROG) likened the KMME program to a Master in Business Administration course with a special session on Digitalization, which is free for the KMME mentees. “Your only investment is that you religiously attend all the sessions, gawin ninyo ang inyong mga assignments and more importantly, gamitin ninyo ang inyong mga matutunan sa kursong ito sa pagpapatakbo ng inyong negosyo,” Regional Operations Group Undersecretary Bles Lantayona said.

The KMME program is an initiative of the DTI and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) to help the country’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through capacity-building activities and inspire them to adopt smart business strategies. After their mentorship from top-caliber entrepreneurs and seasoned industry players, graduates of the KMME-MME are expected to achieve better access credits from banks and other financing providers, improved personnel management, and better marketing skills.

The program will culminate with the presentation of the mentee’s Business Improvement Plan to a panel of coaches where they will be asked about their knowledge on the market, their revenue streams, unique value proposition, and vision for their enterprise moving forward.

As of April 2022, a total of 28 mentoring runs have been conducted with a total of 691 graduates. The program has assisted a total of 3,254 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region. ♦
