Around 90 Livelihood Program Officers of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-10 underwent a virtual learning session on digital marketing on May 3, 2024.
Conducted via Zoom, the learning session aimed to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge on digital marketing to the Livelihood Program Officers of BJMP-10 and strengthen the collaborative efforts of the Bureau with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-10 in creating a transformative impact on the lives of the persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
By adopting e-commerce, Livelihood Program Officers will be able to expand the market of the PDL’s products at a lower cost. In addition, the capacity building activity will enable the officers to empower the PDL with valuable skills in order for the PDL to have successful reintegration upon their release.
The activity was facilitated by Ms. Christine Laurente and included discussions on trends in digital marketing, choosing the right digital platforms, editing applications, digital payment platforms, and e-commerce platforms such as Lazada and Shopee.
The capacity building activity was part of the collaborative efforts between DTI-10 and BJMP-10 under the RESTART Project, which aims to equip PDL with relevant skills and knowledge to foster their employability and reintegration into the community. ♦
