Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bukidnon reminds business establishments to comply with the price freeze for basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) in Quezon and Kibawe in Bukidnon, after the two towns were placed under state of calamity due to the El Niño phenomenon.

Under Republic Act No. 7581 or the Price Act, prices of basic necessities shall automatically be frozen at their prevailing prices for sixty (60) days once a state of calamity is declared in an area.

The automatic price freeze took effect on March 21 and will end on May 20, 2024 in Quezon. Meanwhile, the price freeze in Kibawe started on April 15 and will end on June 14, 2024.

Monitored products under the jurisdiction of DTI are canned fish, locally manufactured instant noodles, bottled water, bread, processed milk, coffee, candles, laundry soap, detergent, and salt.

DTI Bukidnon’s price monitoring team continues the conduct of its regular price and supply monitoring of basic necessities to ensure the availability of essential goods in the said areas.♦
