Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Lanao del Norte emphasizes the priority for safe and quality produce by providing capability building trainings and seminars to develop and equip the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) with the right mindset and knowledge to help them become more effective and efficient in scaling up their business ventures.
DTI LDN through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) successfully conducted current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Food Safety Training on 31 May 2022 at Barangay Pinuyak, Lala, Lanao del Norte to 13 existing and new member-processors of Pinuyak Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative engaged in calamansi concentrate processing.
The initiative promotes productivity in the workplace and helps MSMEs improve the quality of their work and their produce.
Moreover, the training and seminar in producing safe and quality calamansi concentrate for the consumers were relevant and timely as the cooperative experienced an increase in demand for calamansi concentrate, as it served as good source of Vitamin C, during the height of the pandemic.
Through the collaborative efforts of DTI CARP, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and Department of Agriarian Reform (DAR), the cooperative has begun securing the renewal of its FDA-License to Operate Certification. ♦
