The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) issued a stern warning against unscrupulous individuals who pretend to be Secretary Ramon Lopez.
On April 18, 2017, Tuesday, a known businessman in Misamis Oriental received a call from an individual who introduced himself as Secretary Lopez.
The caller, using mobile number 09159352936, called the personal line of a tycoon known for various big and established businesses in Northern Mindanao. This individual requested the businessman to donate and to contribute amounts of money to help Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
DTI urges the public, most especially business owners, to ignore requests from questionable individuals. If unsure of any queries and requests from doubtful entities, it is best to inform the nearest DTI office in your area about these requests.
DTI also reminds the public that the agency never asks for donations in any form nor uses third-party group, nor individuals in collecting fees and reaching out to the public regarding the agency’s programs.
