The Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Office (DTI-MOR-PO) is now just steps away from the business district’s heart where Cagayan de Oro’s city hall, park and cathedral church are all situated. Effective January 1 this year, the new office sits at the ground floor of the State Investment Trust Incorporated Building along Tiano-Hayes Streets.

DTI 10 Director Linda Boniao expressed that the main reason of the transfer is accessibility. Now, a few minutes will be cut off clients’ time in locating the new Misamis Oriental provincial office.

“The location is good since all divisions and services are now in one place. The set-up is similar to our Regional office in Corrales Avenue,” Boniao said. The new location also adheres to DTI Philippines’ demand that major DTI offices nationwide should be within the hub of their respective areas.

To recall, DTI-MOR PO’s former site is at the third floor while its Negosyo Center is at the ground floor of the 52nd Business Center Building located along Gaerlan Street in Cagayan de Oro City – a location that is not quite accessible to some transport systems.

Aside from accessibility issues, the client rate of the province has skyrocketed, compelling DTI-MOR-PO to move to a bigger and more reachable office. Although the announcement has already been made through an online notice, DTI-MOR-PO is still undergoing refurbishments which halted some of the office’s major operations and services.

Despite this, Boniao assures clients that these inconveniences will only be felt in a short period of time. DTI-MOR-PO’s operations and services will most likely be fully functional within the week of January 9.

Aside from this, clients can also expect more manageable transactions in the new provincial office especially that the transport system to the city hall, where business permits are approved, is now easier.

Misamis Oriental’s Trade and Industry Development Specialist Jesse Abear opens a mobile number (+63906-322-0848) to the public for concerns and queries about DTI-MOR PO’s operations in their new site.
