Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has released the price guide for Noche Buena staples. The list includes prices for ham, keso de bola, fruit cocktail, cheese, sandwich spread, mayonnaise, pasta spaghetti, elbow macaroni, salad macaroni, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and creamer or all-purpose cream.

Price guide of ham offers more choices compared to other items in the Noche Buena list. Prices of ham range from P163.00 to P892.50, depending on its unit.

Price range of fruit cocktail starts at P56 to P288; P55 to P371 for cheese; P199.50 to P513.75 for keso de bola; P24 to P176.15 for mayonnaise; P26 to P252 for sandwich spread; and P63 to P75 for all-purpose cream.

The pasta or spaghetti has a price range of P25.50 to P111; P23 to P119 for elbow macaroni; P36.50 to P117 for salad macaroni; P35.50 to P95.50 for spaghetti sauce; and P17.25 to P92.25 for tomato sauce.

DTI also advises the public to examine the expiry date and price tag of products prior to purchase. Prices in the shelf must be the same prices in the cashier.

The public is also reminded to read the labels carefully and compare the prices of competing brands before making a purchase.
