NORTHERN MINDANAO – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 conveys its support on efforts to provide market access to local food entrepreneurs in the region as the Food Processors’ Association of Northern Mindanao (Fopanormin) launched the Tinagboan Festival on August 21-24, 2023.
With the theme, “Sama-sama, Tulong-tulong sa Tinagboan Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan,” the City Fiesta Trade Fair: Tinagboan 2023 was held in Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.
The event served as a significant celebration of Cagayan de Oro City’s culture in food during the Higalaay Fiesta and a commitment to supporting the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the trade fair.
DTI-10 Regional Director Ermedio J. Abang expressed his gratitude to Fopanormin for spearheading the trade fair. He also emphasized that while digitalization gives an edge to a business and was adapted by MSMEs during the pandemic, the conduct of a physical selling “is more effective in facilitating the establishment of personal connections.”
“For this reason, Tinagboan remains to be a wonderful opportunity for our MSMEs to personally get to know their customers, check on the best practices of other MSMEs, find valuable partners, get instant feedback, meet existing clients, advertise their brands, and expand their reach.” RD Abang said.
“The Department of Trade and Industry is grateful to be able to support the annual Tinagboan.” RD Abang added during his message of support. “Through our other programs and services, we hope to contribute to the further growth of our local businesses.”
Aside from the trade fair, Tinagboan also featured a food demonstration, inspirational or business talks, launching of Christmas giveaways, Fopanormin and Cagayan de Oro Talent Center Parade of Models, video making contest, battle of the bands, and more. ♦
