NORTHERN MINDANAO – Twenty-five youth participants in Northern Mindanao graduated from a four-day training course of the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
YEP is a program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with USAID Opportunity 2.0 (O2). It is specifically designed to help the young demographics in the country become productive individuals through entrepreneurship.
The youth participants who are aspiring entrepreneurs or who already have existing businesses were provided with life and entrepreneurship skills; assisted with strengthening their business ideas or current businesses by capacitating them in identifying markets and opportunities, developing a business plan, and becoming more creative and innovative; and encouraged to engage in entrepreneurship by equipping them with soft and work readiness skills.
The workshop ended where participants presented their business plan and pitch to invited panelists.
DTI-10 Regional Director Ermedio Abang assured the youth graduates of DTI’s continuous support even after their graduation from the program during the closing ceremony.
“DTI will remain supportive of your entrepreneurship journey through our other seminars offered in the Negosyo Centers and other major programs such as One Town, One Product, Shared Service Facilities, and Industry Cluster Enhancement, among others.” RD Abang said.♦
