KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO – Department of Trade and Industry Region 12 (DTI-Region 12) joins the Serbisyo Caravan of the Cotabato Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) to deliver the programs and services of the government in Brgy. Alegria, President Roxas.
The collaborative activity last 22 April was joined by the different national and local line agencies with DTI- Region 12 providing business development advisory services to the residents of the said community.
Jude Constantine S. Jaugan, Regional Director of DTI-Region 12, informed the public during his message that DTI has already launched the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) in several barangays in the province of Cotabato including Brgy. Alegria to propel business opportunities and capacitate residents particularly in the ELCAC identified areas.
“We have lined up several training to provide livelihoods to the residents and help spur the economic activities in the community,” Jaugan added.
During the Serbisyo Caravan, carenderia starter kits were turned over by DTI-12 to three beneficiaries of the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) of Alegria, and one unit of desktop computer and a television set were also awarded to the Barangay Local Government Unit.
“We hope that our beneficiaries will be able to prosper their carenderia business. And our Barangay local government unit (LGU) can maximize the use of our computer and TV set to educate and encourage residents to do business,” said Jaugan.
In accordance with Executive Order 70 signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte that aims to address the root causes of insurgency to end local armed conflict in the countryside, DTI- Region 12 has been actively joining the Serbisyo Caravan all over Region 12 to deliver the agency’s services to the grassroots. There are 191 ELCAC barangays in Region 12 of which 79 are in the province of Cotabato. Twenty-eight (28) of these barangays were already assisted by DTI-12 through provisions of business development training and livelihood kits to identified beneficiaries.♦
