KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO – The Department of Trade and Industry 12 (DTI-12) joins the inter-agency assessment and assistance of a household fire victim in the municipality of Maitum, Sarangani.
The house of Jeaneth Divinagracia was completely obliterated when a fire broke out in the early morning of September 14 killing his husband, and leaving her and 7-year-old daughter homeless and without livelihood.
Joining the team composed of TESDA, DOLE, Social Welfare, NHA and representative of Sen. Bong Go, an initial assessment of the current condition of Divinagracia was made for the collaborative assistance to be extended to her family.
DTI-12 through its Sarangani Field Office will be extending a balut livelihood starter kit assistance to Divinagracia through the Pangkabuhayan sa PagBabago at Ginhawa (PBG) Program.
PBG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program that aims to provide assistance to individuals and their families who were affected by fire incidents, other calamities, health disasters, those in the Local Communist Armed Conflict (LCAC) affected areas, including the military and police personnel who are killed or wounded in action.
The program is anchored to help beneficiaries recover from the natural or man-made calamities through entrepreneurial assistance package.
Prior to the fire incident, Divinagracia survives her family by selling balut and retail “bote-bote” of gasoline. Initial cash assistance, grocery and bicycle as their means of transportation were extended by the office of Sen. Go. ♦
