A total of 20 Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) enrolled coconut MSMEs participated in the Training on Coconut Products and By-Products; Buko Pie Processing and Preservation of the SSF Beneficiaries conducted by the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) Regional Training Center 02 on 19-21 March 2024.
The second day of the 3-day stint of activities focused on the Training proper on Product Enhancement and Marketing with Team DTI R2 Nueva Vizcaya represented by STIDS-CARP Flomilyn Dela Cruz and Technical Assistant Jan Christopher Decoro as the resource speaker and/or facilitators.
STIDS-CARP Dela Cruz reiterated the importance of attaining and sustaining success by practicing effective and efficient marketing; undergoing product development through proper labeling and branding; and complying with the standardization of food product preparation and manufacturing.
The participants also underwent profiling. This was done to ensure that relevant data/information was captured by the agency to tailor and/or provide future interventions.
The participants extended their gratitude to agencies like DTI for their continued support despite the event venue’s distance from the capital of the province. They vowed to make use of their new knowledge to improve and supplement their existing operations.
Aside from the training, the DTI R2 NV duo also visited the other Shared Service Facility (SSF) Projects in the municipality, such as the Softbroom Production and Buko Pie Processing Facility to conduct monitoring and inventory count.
