Region 2 brought home another achievement and pride as the nine MSME artisans staged their distinct innovations in an immersive showcase of the rich cultural heritage of indigenous crafts, arts, and traditions through the 2023 National Arts and Crafts Fair, held from October 4–8 in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
This is organized by the DTI, Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP), in collaboration with the DTI Regional and Provincial Offices and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and supported by the Office of Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda.
The total sales generated reached a total of P1,332,995.00 for booked and cash sales that were made possible through the showcase of the region’s various innovative products, such as indigenous fabrics, woven apparel, and improved artisanal and handcrafted products by local MSMEs that were enhanced through DTI R2’s culture-oriented and tradition-based product development.
Among the MSMEs who joined the trade show were: Four H Handicraft, Livelihood Association of Egongots, Bibsy Shop, Indigenous Enabel Craft, Lapekto Lapel, Clockwise Furniture Shop, Maddela Flowers and Crafts, Santos Women Weavers Association, and Dale’s Coffee.
They were also joined and supported by the DTI R2 officers, who assisted them all through the process.
DTI R2 commends all the local MSMEs for this impressive achievement! We are proud to be a part of your journey and can’t wait to see your businesses reach new heights. Cheers to more achievements in growing globally! ♦
