The Department of Trade and Industry Quirino Provincial conducted a two-day Diskwento Caravan Balik Eskwela edition on June 2-3, 2017 at the Capitol Pavilion, Capitol Grounds, Cabarroguis, Quirino.
With the theme: Presyong Panalo Para sa mamimili ng Quirino, the activity aimed to help Quirinians prepare for the start of the school year by making available school supplies and other basic and prime commodities at more reasonable prices. DTI-Quirino invited exhibitors from Santiago City and local MSMEs in the province of Quirino who offered their products at discounted prices.
Prior to the event, promotional activities were conducted to make sure that Quirinians will be aware of the scheduled caravan. Tarpaulins were hanged at strategic places and the social media was used to advertise it. DTI-Quirino also tapped the local radio station of the province, DWQP 92.1 FM Radyo ng Bayan, in promoting and announcing the event
A total of ten (10) exhibitors participated in the caravan who offered products like school supplies, school uniforms, bags, shoes and other basic and prime commodities and a total of 455 buyers benefited from the event. Noteworthy are the low-priced bags, shoes and other school supplies and apparels which gained the highest percentage of sales generated. This can be attributed to the fast approaching opening of classes.
