The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 Public Relations and Management of Information Services (PR & MIS) Unit, under the leadership of Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo and Assistant Regional Director Winston T. Singun, organized a customized knowledge-sharing initiative and skills development program that empowered 42 DTI R2 personnel on 20-22 November 2023, held at the DTI R2 Negosyo Center Hall, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
The said activity aims to successfully implement branding strategies using essential tools, knowledge, and best practices for creating and maintaining a strong corporate brand.
In her welcome message on behalf of RD Ocampo, DTI R2 Chief-of-Staff Elena Marie V. Ferrer highlighted that the said training was not just a training program for the designated Information Officers, Information Technology Officers, and understudies present; it was a gateway to unlocking the immense potential that lies within the digital sphere. More so, she mentioned that the knowledge shared will empower each participant to excel more in their respective fields.
In addition, the activity was also initiated in response to the recommendation during the 17th Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair Debriefing, namely: 1.) to further enhance the skills of IT Officers/ Information Officers, 2.) to onboard or train new understudies (DTI R2 employees) that will be considered a ready pool of trained personnel.
Among the relevant and timely topics discussed were the following:
DTI Corporate Identity Manual and DTI R2 Branding (Mark Christian P. Callueng);
Promotion through SMS and email blasts (SEBS) and Digital Designs utilizing quick and templated Apps & other visual layouts (Jay-Jay Ucol);
AVP Creation (Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere (John Edward Iringan);
Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Awareness (Jaymar Recolizado and Jerard Que); and
Mobile Photography & Tips and Tricks (Jerico Joshua Kahulugan)
The 3-day hybrid training brought together program managers and unit heads, designated IT Officers, IOs, and DTI R2 employees recommended by each provincial office (Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya) and regional division to embark on a thorough educational journey that provided them with the skills and knowledge necessary to flourish in their crucial role in influencing the future.
