As part of the efforts to champion innovation, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 Nueva Vizcaya and Saint Mary’s University continue to work on the realization of the Php4.5M Nueva Vizcaya FabLab for Furniture, GHD, and Wearables Expansion under the Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program, with the delivery of the necessary equipment and machinery, completed and inspected on 22-26 July 2024, including a Demonstration Training for the cooperators at the Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO), Saint Mary’s University (SMU), Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

The equipment delivered included a Print and Cut Machine, UV Printer, and CNC Milling Machine.

The 3-day demonstration training aims to capacitate SMU-TTBDO personnel on machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

According to DTI R2 NV Provincial Director Atty. Michael B. Paggabao, this expansion project is expected to provide additional support to MSMEs and other stakeholders, particularly on product improvement and innovation.

The team is currently preparing and gearing up for the soft launch of the FabLab expansion, which is tentatively scheduled for 07 August 2024 at SMU, Bayombong.

Also present during the activity were CTIDS Lenore Lee S. Lopez, STIDS Richard Siugan, TIDS Ronald Tuddao, and Technical Assistant Arjay Mar Novida.
