Tuguegarao City, led by Mayor Maila Ting Que, proudly takes center stage as the Philippines’ City of Charm at the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, China, an annual government-to-government event participated in by the 10 ASEAN countries, and considered as the region’s biggest trade and investment promotion platform.

Mayor Maila Ting Que ably made a pitch for the city, enjoining prospective Chinese Investors in renewable energy, Information Technology – Business Process Management (IT-BPM), and Tourism at the Philippine Investment on 16 September 2023 attended by more than 50 Chinese businessmen eager to know what the city can offer. Meetings with four prospective investors were also held after the Investment Forum. Further, City Mayor Ting Que, together with Head of Delegation DTI Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo attended business meetings with two companies for possible business cooperation.

The Tuguegarao City contingent to CAEXPO included the participation of five MSMEs at the expo’s Commodity Pavilion. The products of Lighthouse Cooperative, Sta. Praxedes Sarakat Women Weavers Association, One Asia Trader, and Dataj Aquafarm and services of R&V Fly Global Travels and Tours and DDT Konstrakt are seen to be attracting interest from Chinese consumers. #
